Skeletal System of a Cuttlefish
The cuttlebone (see figure1) is a flat, white, oval shaped and chalk like bone that supports the cuttlefish. The main role of the cuttle bone would be to give the cuttle fish shape, protection and allow the cuttle fish to regulate the gas to liquid ratio in order to change how deep and shallow it is. The cuttlebone is made up of aragonite and carbon mineral and it is an internal skeleton.
